Scott AFB Military & Family Readiness Center

Personal & Work Life Program

Spouse Orientation & Tour

The Spouse Orientation & Tour is a fun and informative base orientation. During the tour spouses will have the opportunity to learn about the various missions at Scott AFB, and the many services available to them. Each quarter a different squadron will provide a special tour and lunch will be provided.

Military spouses join the military without taking the oath, but they are important members of the team. New military spouses may soon discover that their AD spouse will soon deploy, or they are about to PCS, but they may not be sure what a deployment or PCS means let alone what it involves. The Spouse Orientation & Tour (Heart Link) teaches new spouses (married less than 5 years) about military life as a member and family member.

True Colors & 4 Lenses

Developed with the foundation that each individual has unique strengths and motivations. These assessments are both proven personality assessments which helps organizations build a solid understanding of the innate talent and potential of its individuals. Both assessments have been simplified to create a more enjoyable experience with longer-lasting application retention.

Four Lenses & True Colors assessments are available by request to be administered in group settings.  For more information, please contact the M&FRC at aafrc@us.af.mil.

Individual Consultation

Assessment consultations for individuals, couples, and families are available upon request. These individual consultations are geared to develop and enhance life skills, and increase effectiveness of daily living. Specific areas of assistance may include grief, communication, divorce, moving, parenting, etc. Referrals are made to on and off base agencies as needed.

Adoption, Foster Care & Mentoring

A representative from the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition in St. Louis is available to explain steps to becoming a foster or adoptive parent. For more information please contact the Military & Family Readiness Center via email at aafrc@us.af.mil.

Widow Support Group

Grief can feel so isolating, but you don't have to be alone. You will find others who are walking this journey with you. This network of spouses is an informal group that understands the grief as they have lost and received the folded flag. This group meets monthly at the Military & Family Readiness Center. The group shares resources, talks about experiences, and advocates for Widows/Widowers. For more information please contact the M&FRC at (618) 256-8668 or aafrc@us.af.mil.
